Abstract

258,211. Campbell, G., and Fowler, E. July 13, 1926. Securing shades and reflectors to holders.-In order to provide efficient ventilation and to permit of concentric mounting of a shade or reflector with respect to an electric lamp bulb, the upper end of the neck of a shade 6 is provided with a ring or flange in the form of an inverted frustate cone the inclined side of which is engaged by symmetrically arranged projections provided on the interior of the lower end of a cap or canopy 1 carrying the lamp socket. The ring or flange may be formed integrally with the shade as by stamping or casting, or it may comprise an annular ring 7 of triangular cross-section maintained in position by an outwardly extending flange 8 at the extreme upper end of the shade. The projections preferably comprise two stationary partspherical locating projections 5 and a clamping screw 3 all carried by or formed integrally with lugs or enlarged portions 2<a>, 2<b> riveted or otherwise secured to or formed integrally with the canopy 1.
