Abstract

Overhead lamps; wall lamps.-In a lamp adapted to be secured to a support such as the root or wall of a railway carriage or a ship's cabin, a reflector a is provided with two holes near the centre for the holders of two electric lamp bulbs and with a shield m extending diametrically between the two bulbs, the whole being enclosed by a globe n. Both bulbs may be lit for ordinary illumination, or only one may be lit for one-sided illumination, the other side being shielded. The shield is.of slightly smaller dimensions than the globe, and its lower edge may be stiffened by a rim or bead q. The shield and reflector may be made integrally in one piece by stamping and pressing, or the top edge of the shield may be welded to a diametrical slot in the reflector, the shield and reflector preferably being coated with white enamel. The reflector may be in the form of a dished disc with a rim b for securing the lamp to the support, and the globe may be carried by a ring f hinged at one side and provided at the other side with a catch.
