Abstract

172,425. Thompson, W. E. Sept. 13, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Windows and the like, cleaning.-A powerdriven device for washing and drying windows consists of a casing 1 pivoted on a yoke 51 and containing a rotary brush 2 fed with cleansing liquid from a removable tank 15 by a wick 22, a rotary rubber drying-roller 3, and a rubber pressure roller 4 held in contact with the roller 3 by spring-adjusted bearings (not shown). Scrapers 10, 5, for removing liquid from the rollers 3, 4, are situated over a deflector plate 12, sloping towards a drain compartment 19, and having a front extension 12a. The brush and rollers are revolved through a flexible shaft 47 from a gear wheel 48 fixed to the yoke by a clip 49, this gear wheel meshing with a gear wheel 58 on the shaft 59 of an electromotor 60 secured to a portable handle 56 when the device is assembled. Spacing rollers 69 are adjustably secured on either side of the casing.
