Abstract

A device for cleaning the outside of hosepipes, especially fire hoses, ready for re-use, has a chamber with its top (3) and bottom (2) split o n a horizontal centre line, and hinged so that the top can be swung back for access to the interior, the chamber being mounted on a wheeled frame (1). The top and the bottom each houses a motor (9, 11) driven rotary brush (8, 10) between which the hose (15) passes, water being delivered to the brushes by a supply tube and discharged through two pipes (12, 13). Two opposite sides of the housing incorporate a flexible curtain (17), divided into segments, though which the hose passes.
