Abstract

Stoppers, connections to prevent loss of.-In a device for securing screw stoppers to bottles &c., to prevent loss of the stopper, and of the type comprising a ring free to slide and rotate on the bottle neck and formed at its ends with outwardly bent loops adapted to be connected together by a part of a stirrup passing through the loops and having its free ends pivoted to the stopper, the ring a, Fig. 1, only partly encircles the bottle neck c and its loops b. clearly separated to form a wide hinge connection, are connected by a part l of the stirrup e. The part l is initially formed with a hump which is partially flattened during the operation of closing the loops b in a press or by a hand tool so that the ends h of the stirrup are caused to enter the holes j in the stopper k. A paper seal m and label n are arranged as shown in Fig. 3 to obviate the sealing of the stopper k to the mouth of the bottle.
