Abstract

226,463. Kivlan, J. L., and Onthank, C. F., (trading as Smalley, Kivlan, & Onthank). Sept. 10, 1924. Stoppers secured by toggle levers and the like. - A cover 6 is secured to a jar by a pair of diametrically - opposite clamping - devices comprising toggle links 9, 10 of which the longer members 9 are provided on their outer ends with down-turned nibs 13 adapted to engage an annular groove 8 near the edge of the stopper and the shorter links 10 are pivoted to a wipe 12 encircling the neck of the jar. Each link 9 is in the form of a closed bail having its lower end formed with a pronounced bow which permits it to be readily grasped below the point of connection of the shorter link 10 and the wire 12.
