Delivery pipes. -In a hand fire-extinguisher having the pump 2 delivering into a discharge tube 8 beside it, a normally open valve 11 is arranged to close the discharge tube against leakage when the pump piston is pushed in to the limit. The liquid, instead of passing direct from the opening 10 to the nozzle, may pass through a bent tube 15 as an additional safeguard against leakage, and the tube 15 may be carried once round the container 1. The invention may be applied to extinguishers of the kind described in Specification 161,610.
