Abstract

171,447. Baines, H. C. Aug. 5, 1920. Wheel-driving attachment; clutches, arrangement and application of.-A small agricultural tractor is provided with a driving wheel consisting of two members between which is located a powertransmitting element such as a chain wheel, a friction drive being obtained by pressing the wheel members into contact with the chain wheel by means of springs. The member 6 of the driving wheel, Fig. 3, is adjustable axially on the hub 11 of the other member 7, the two being pressed togetner by means of springs 22 and bolts so as to grip the chain wheel 18 between them. The chaindriving sprocket 50 is driven from the engine crank shaft, Fig. 4, through toothed gearing and a cam clutch 55.
