Abstract

171,324. Marsh, F. Dec. 24, 1920. Belts of the kind comprising operative links with side pads of leather &c. b connected by master links j, Figs. 1, 2, 3, and 5, have pivot or transverse pins in the form of tubes c, Fig, 3, engaging annular holes b<1> in the pads b. The tubes c are opened out or shouldered at their ends to engage metal plates a which reinforce the pads. The tubes c are strengthened by separate solid cores d, and are surrounded by rotating sleeves e engaged by the links j. The links j, Figs. 1 and 2, are adapted to be bent open to disconnect, or are formed as double snap hooks, as shown in Fig. 5. Spacing-blocks f are held in place by wood pegs g. In a simple form shown in Figs. 7 and 8, the reinforcing plates are replaced by elongated metal rings n pressed into the pads embracing the tubes c. The' master linkare plates i with an eye at each end.
