459,037. Driving - chains. MORSE CHAIN CO., Ltd., The Chaineries, Letchworth, Hertfordshire.-(Assignees of Perry, D. B.; Ithaca, New York, U.S.A.) Oct. 15, 1936, No. 28044. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1935. [Class 24] In chains of the kind having joints of the pin and bushing type, the pin 9 which is secured to one set of links 4 is of substantially oblong form with rounded ends 11, 12, and is disposed with its major axis lengthwise of the chain. The bushing 10 is connected to the other set of links 3. The apertures in the link plates are shaped so as to provide the necessary clearances for the relative movements between the parts and the apertures in which the pins are secured are formed so as to embrace the pins beyond the rounded ends. To prevent backward bending of the chain extensions 20 on certain of the links abut against each other when the chain is straight, and some of the outer links 3 are provided with guide plates 5.
