Abstract

170,897. Bussac, G. A. June 24, 1920. Water-tube boilers; tubes, water; settings.-In a boiler having inclined tubes extending vertically between upper and lower rows of transverse headers, the tubes are fitted with inner concentric tubes, through which water returns from the upper to the lower headers, external return tubes being dispensed with. The upper rectangular headers 11, Figs. 4 and 5, are connected by pipes 10, 12 to longitudinal feed-collectors 7 and steam collectors 13, which are connected together by nipples 23. Steam passes from the steam collectors to a main collector 18. Removable heatinsulating panels 14 are fitted above the headers. An inner tube 2, Fig. 1, is supported in an outer tube 1 by tongue-pieces 4 cut out of the inner tube and so bent outwards as to rest on the top of the outer tube. The bottom of the inner tube is held in position by a spider-piece 5 forced into the bottom of the outer tube.
