Abstract

170,460. Maggiora, D. Aug. 27, 1920. Tyre attachments to rims.-The beaded edges 7 of a tyre cover 1, enclosing a solid core 4, are forced into the rim-flanges bv pairs of segments A, Figs. 1 and 2, which are spread by wedges H engaging taper surfaces F on the segments. The latter are formed with interengaging tongues and grooves D, E, the wedges H being adjusted by radial screws K. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the segments B, C are forced apart by blocks O, P which are circumferentially separated by means of a radially-adjustable wedge N.
