Pedestal, pillar, and like stands.-A shop-window display stand has a fixed pillar comprising two parts a, secured in slots in a supporting base c by wedges, and kept at the requisite distance apart by bands f secured thereto and having inward projectors h, which bands serve as guides for a slidable portion e held in position by a known form of eccentric lever m. The stand head may be formed by two shaped pieces q hinged together, the hinge s being provided with two projections w, connected by an elastic band x or a spring, and adapted to contact with a movable arm v to vary the inclination of the pieces q. The arm v is operated by a threaded collar y on the screwed stem u which projects downwardly from the centre of hinge s and screws into the top end of the slidable portion e of the stand.
