Platen - shift mechanism. - A silent stop for the shift frame A consists of a lever D pivoted on a pin c<1> on the carriage C and formed with curved faces d2, d<3> in constant engagement with members, such as the supporting-links B, connected to the shift frame. During the shift-movements, the faces d<2>, d<3> roll on the links, the movements being limited by the engagement of the links with the hub d<1> of the lever. The lever D may be embraced loosely by a blade spring. Specification 15723/99 is referred to.
