Abstract
139,761. Kraut, H. B. March 4, 1919, [Convention date]. Operating clutches.-In power-operated disengaging-means for claw and other clutches for use in cutting-machines &c., the clutch-part 24 turning with the driven shaft 16 is moved into engagement with the driving clutch-part 25 by arms 28 on a spindle 26 rocked by a pedal-operated link 40 pivoted to an arm 34 loose on the spindle 26 and connected to an arm 30 rigid on the spindle by a rod 32 and spring cushioning-means 38. When the pedal is released, the spring 38 returns a roller 46 carried by the arm 34 into the path of a camflange 47 on the clutch-part 24, so that the clutch is disengaged by the rotation of the shaft.
