Abstract

900,485. Typewriters &c. OLYMPIA WERKE A.G. Dec. 17, 1958 [Dec. 21, 1957], No. 40747/58. Class 100 (4). In a power-driven type-bar mechanism the impression force is adjusted by varying the effective leverage of a transmission lever between the power roll and an intermediate type-bar lever. A transmission lever 4 is pivoted at 4a on a bearing bracket 2 which is pivoted at 3 with an intermediate type-bar lever 5 which is actuated by a pull wire 6 when the lever 4 is pivoted by a roller 14 of a drive rocker 15 when it engages a driving drum 16. A hand wheel 12 through gearing 13 rotates a cam or cams 10 which engage the bracket 2 to pivot it so that the lever 4 moves over the roller 14 to alter its effective leverage and thus the force transmitted to the intermediate lever 5 so that the impression of all the typebars is adjusted. The wheel 12 has impression setting indications 19. Specification 900,486 is referred to.
