Abstract
The preparation of the dialkylaminoalkyl compounds described in the parent Specification is effected by acting with caustic alkalis upon mixtures of halogenalkyldialkylamines, or their salts, with bodies of the general formula R.CO.CH(R1)X, where X is an electronegative radical; the products may be purified by shaking with aqueous ammonia. In examples, the preparation of diethylaminoethylacetoacetic ester from chlorethyldiethylamine or brom-ethyldiethylamine hydrobromide, acetoacetic ester, and solid caustic potash is described, the products being purified by shaking in benzene solution with ammonia. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the preparation of a -dimethylaminoethyl-acetoacetic ester and diethylaminobutyl-acetoacetic ester. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
