Abstract

513,242. Sulphonamides. I.G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. April 4, 1938, No. 10324. Convention date, April 3, 1937. Addition to 480,059. [Class 2 (iii)] 4-Aminobenzene-sulphonamide is purified by dissolving 4-acetylaminobenzene-sulphonamide in excess caustic alkali solution, heating to split.off the acetyl group and separating the product by making.the solution ammoniacal by the addition of an ammonium salt. An example is given. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also refers to the treatment of 4-acylamino compounds in general and splitting off the acyl group. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
