Differential governors.-Variable-speed friction gear 14, 15 is introduced between a driving-shaft 1 and a fly-wheel, and epicyclic mitre-gear 25 connects the regulating-screw 24 both with the shaft and with a small constant-speed motor 35. With change of load on the shaft the effort of the fly-wheel to prevent change of speed is assisted by a change of the velocity-ratio in the friction-gear due to the actual change of speed.
