Condenser systems.-In a steam-turbine-driven electric plant in which a condenser is used and in which the generator cooling-air is cooled by an apparatus fed with cooling water, this water is circulated by the same pump or other operative medium as is the water of the condenser. The air-cooling water may be either cooling or condensed water from the condenser and if the amount used for the cooling apparatus or the feed pipe is found to be unsuitable, a portion only is preferably diverted. If the plant runs non-condensing, arrangements are made for a direct supply of the generator cooling-air without passing cyclically through the cooling apparatus.. Alternatively, the pump valves may be so adjusted to supply only the amount of water required by the cooling apparatus.
