Abstract

166,398. Perry, W. P. May 8, 1920. Endless-chain machines; moulding. fuel blocks. -Carbonaceous material, such as a mixture of powdered bituminous waste. coal and powdered peat, is charged from a gas-tight hopper D at one end of a closed heating-chamber A into moulds B on an endless belt above which is an endless belt of weights C which fit in and travel with the moulds B during part of their passage through the chamber A which is heated by hot gases from a suitable source as a producer G. The material is distilled and compressed into briquettes which fall, owing to the opening of the moulds, on to an endless band conveyer F. The distillation gases are taken off through pipes I having perforations.
