Abstract
165,938. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., and Young, A. P. April 1, 1920. Addition to 142,744. Inductor machines.-In a magneto as described in the parent Specification, the core 1 is made of soft-iron wire or other laminated material and secured to a laminated end disc 2 moulded within a removable end cover 3 of insulating-material such as a phenol condensation product. The inductors are moulded within the periphery of the rotor 9 which is formed of insulating-material. One set of the inductors is formed by the parallel limbs of a laminated core having a yoke portion fixed to a non-magnetic end plate 11 carried by the shaft 10 of the machine. The core 1 may be dis. posed in a split soft-iron tube 13 having flangers at each end and carrying the armature windings. To transmit the high-tension current to the distributor ring, an electrode or spring-controlled carbon brush 23 is mounted on the outside of the secondary armature so as to coact with a conducting ring 22 on the inside of the rotor ring. The contact-breaker mechanism and condenser are covered by a spun-metal cap 34.
