Abstract
165,208. Cloke, J. G. March 23, 1920. Inclined-trough wet-separating apparatus.- Ores and other materials are separated by causing a pulp to flow over a launder or series of launders of V or like shape in section forming a bed of the heavy material on the bottom of the launder, intercepting any desired proportion of the heavy materials which flow over the bed, and allowing the light materials to pass away with the stream, Means may be provided for varying the angle of repose of the bed by providing linings for the launders or means for adjusting their inclination. In the plant shown, pulp is fed from a distributor j to a number of parallel launders a forming the first set of a, series of five rows. The heavy material passing out of the launders a is intercepted by an adjustable baffle g, while the light material after striking a baffle f<1> passes over to the next set of launders a<1> and so on. The concentrates collected in the troughs l pass to a launder n and thence to further sets of launders b. The tailings are passed to launders p, q. Means may be provided for collecting concentrates from any of the sets of launders a and passing them direct tothe sets b &c.
