Abstract

165,200. Leheup, C. E. March 22, 1920. India-rubber, ornamenting.-Vulcanized rubber articles are dipped into any ordinary enamel solution used for decorating rubber goods, dried, and the enamel is vulcanized. The article is then immersed in naphtha, which softens and expands the enamel and causes it to rise from the article and produces the appearance of an irregularly woven surface. The article is then dried. If necessary, the article may be given two coats of enamel before vulcanizing.
