163,358. Andrade, J. S. Nov. 11, 1919. Springs, arrangement of.--A stub axle b<1> for the steering-wheels of a motor or other vehicle is carried by a member b which slides in a housing a pivoted on the spindle a<2> mounted in the forked end of the axle, resilient means being interposed between the top of the member b and the top of the housing a. In the arrangement shown, the resilient means comprises springs a<7> mounted on bolts a<6> which are secured to the housing and also form guides for the member b. Pneumatic devices or leaf springs may be substituted for the springs a<7>. The lug for the steering-arm is shown at a<3>.
