Abstract
244,799. Maschinenfabrik Esslingen. Dec. 20, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect 91 of the Act]. Movements of vehicles, utilizing. - An auxiliary machine, such as a lighting dynamo, is driven from the axle 1 of a railway vehicle by gear wheels 9, 5, the wheel 9 being provided with a sleeve 3 clamped to the axle by drivers 8. A resilient member 2, which may comprise rubber pads or helical or leaf springs, is interposed between the sleeve 3 and the axle and may, through frictional contact, drive the wheel 9. The casing 4 is loosely mounted on the outside of the sleeve 3 so that the dynamo is maintained in a depending position by gravity. In a modification, the axes of the dynamo and axle are maintained in a horizontal plane by springs. The parts encircling the axle are preferably made in halves.
