Abstract

Steering-gear; vibration-dampers.- A steering damper for motor cars and motor cycles comprises a vibration damper 11 of the friction disc type in which an arm 19 or other moving part of the damper is connected by a link 21 having a universal joint 20, 22 at each end to the track-rod 24 or other part of the steering-gear. The link 21 is adjustable in length. In the construction shown, the damper is clamped to the front axle 17 and comprises two discs 10, 11 with a cork or other friction disc between. A rubber ring 35 excludes dust, water &c, The damping effect may be regulated by means of the nuts 30 or may be controlled by cords or otherwise and a lever within reach of the driver.
