Abstract

A stop-motion is provided which acts if either of the moving knives k, l, breaks, or becomes detached, or descends too far by reason of improper adjustment of the connecting-rods by which they are operated from the eccentrics j. When, from any such cause, a knife strikes the lever m, a rod o operates, through a bell-crank lever, the belt-shifting rod q, thereby stopping the machine. The eccentrics and the fixed bearings of the machine are fitted with antifriction balls or rollers.
