Abstract
442,925. Scutching or picking cotton. KERSHAW, J. G., Drummondville, and DOMINION TEXTILE CO., Ltd., 710, Victoria Square, Montreal, both in Quebec, Canada. Aug. 20, 1934, No. 13598/35. Divided out of 442,894. [Class 120 (i)] A roller 19, Fig. 3, for regulating the feed of cotton to a scutcher or picker 26 is formed with longitudinal spiral grooves such as to maintain the spiral flutes or teeth 21 therebetween in continuous engagement with the pedal ends 20 of the regulating levers. The material is forwarded by spiked collecting rollers 15, 16 under the roller 19 and thence between feed rollers 24, 25 into the beater 26. The flutes 21 of the roller 19 may be transversely threaded or grooved as at 22, Fig. 8. Specification 442,894 is referred to.
