Cut-out arrangements.- In a protective cut-out system for two parallel feeders, of the kind in which a differential relay operates in conjunction with another relay to close a trip circuit, the differential relay is energized from current transformers in the bus-bar joining the parallel conductors. The current transformers may be employed to energize the differential relay of a pair of incoming feeders and a pair of outgoing feeders. The terminals D<8>, D<9>, Figs. 1 and 3, of the coil D<1> of a differential relay D are connected to the secondary winding of a bus-bar transformer C, and the terminals D<10>, D<11> of the coil D<2> are connected to the secondary winding of a bus-bar transformer C'. The terminals D<5>, D<6> of a relay D<3> are connected to the cross-connected secondaries of leeder transformers E, E<1>. When a fault occurs in one of the feeders A, A<1>, the differential relay D and the relay D<3> are operated to close selectively the circuit of corresponding trip coil F or F<1>. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the current transformers C, C<1> are connected to the differential relay of the incoming feeders A, A<1> and to the differential relay of the out-going feeders A<2>, A<3>.
