Rod couplings. - An improved running gear for children's carriages &c. has its side members coupled to the rear axles by stamped members having pairs of bendable integral lugs which clamp on the parts. The rear axle 2, Fig. I, is coupled to tubular side members 4 by cruciform members 5, Figs. IV and V, the arms 6 of which have lugs 7 clamped on the axle 2, the arms 11 having lugs 9, 10 clamped about the side members 4. The members 5 are also secured centrally to the axle by rivets 8 while the lugs 10 are extended to engage the springs 12, which are bolted to the side members by bolts 15 passing through clips 13 held in recesses 14. The front ends of the members 4 are offset to engage the front axle 3, and the front springs 18 are secured to the members by bolts 19<1> and clips 19. The springs 12, 18 are connected by springs 22 which have a central cross-piece 23 to which a crosspiece 25 on body brackets 24 is pivoted to allow of reversal of the body when a latch 27 is disengaged from its keeper 30. The handle 33 is secured to the side members 4 by clips 34 and bolts 35. The wheels are preferably secured by the means described in Specification 146,787, [Class 144 (i), Wheels for vehicles].
