Abstract
161,602. Taylor, A. M. Sept. 26, 1919. Systems depending on the use of static transformers.-Three-phase current is supplied over the three feeders I.P.C., Fig. 1, of a single-phase supply system by connecting the central cores of the feeders to the outer ends of a transformer S.U.T. and the outer conductors of the feeders to the inner ends of the transformer. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the three-phase current is converted to twophase current before transmission and the singlephase generator A is connected to the central ceres of the feeders I.P.C. through a static balancer SSB. In a further modification shown in Fig. 3 the feeders I.P.C. are cut and the central cores connected to the single-phase generator A and to one end of two step-up transformers S.U.T., the other ends of these transformers being connected to the outer conductors of the feeders. The two-phase generator AA may be replaced by a three-phase generator and a Scott connection transformer employed. Specification 151,294 is referred to.
