Abstract
160,485. Hawkins, T. W. Oct. 21, 1919. Passing loose fibrous materials through fluids and fluid-applying apparatus.-A wool &c. washing machine of the kind comprising propelling frame for moving the material along the bowl of the machine and a discharge frame for removing the material from the machine has independently-adjustable linkage systems, driven by sepaiate eccentrics or other means, for varying the paths through which the frames move. As shown in Fig. 1, the main frame a, suspended by rods b<2>, and the auxiliary or discharge frame suspended by rods b<1>, are actuated respectively by eccentrics e, f, the positions of which on the mainshaft may be varied by the use, for example, of tapered keys. The strokes of the frames may be varied by adjusting the points at which the eccentricrods are attached to the slotted links c, d.
