Abstract

246,370. Ezbelent, E. L. April 27, 1925, [Convention date]. Pleating.-In a pleating machine in which the material is passed between a drum and flexible members travelling round the drum at a slower speed than the peripheral speed of the drum, the pressure roller, engaging the fabric where it passes between the flexible members and the drum, is positively driven. The drum 9 and flexible members 15 are driven through worm gearing 3, 4, 5, 6 from shafts 1, 2 connected by interchangeable gearing 7, 8. The pressure rollers 11 are mounted in pivoted forked holders 14, and are driven from a shaft 13, driven in turn from the drum 9 by gearing not shown. Raised portions may be produced in the work by means of reciprocating blades 23, 24 operated from the shaft 1.
