Abstract

1980. Metcalfe, A. W. Jan. 26. Rollers and roller heads.-The rubbers or scrapers used for cleaning the drawing-rollers of preparing and spinning machinery and carried by a spring- pressed plunger slidably mounted on a stationarv bracket, are provided with means for operating them and. holding them out of action when required. I n t h e arrangement shown in Fig. 1, a lever E, pivoted at F to the bracket D, is connected by a link H with a pin G on the plunger C. By turning the lever down and past the dead centre, the scraper or rubber B is held out of action. In a modification, the lever has a cam surface which engages a pin on the plunger. The lever may be pivoted on the plunger and act upon some part of the bracket.
