Abstract

288,042. Fine Cotton Spinners' & Doublers' Association, Ltd., and Bellhouse, W. S. April 30, 1927. Rollers, clearing.-Reciprocating underclearers A for the bottom delivery or drawing rollers of textile machines are carried on cradles C so that they may be readily detached therefrom and removed whilst the machine is in motion, the cradles being pivotally mounted and controlled by a spring H or springs to hold the clearers against the rollers. The clearers are shown as applied to a Nasmith combing-machine, and the cradle is formed of sheet metal with webs formed with slots C<5> which engage studs d<2> screwed into the ends of a rod D pivoted in the framework D<1>, one of the pivots d<1> thereof being extended and provided with a slotted arm E engaged by a crank pin f whereby the cradle and underclearer are oscillated. A projection c<6> from the cradle engages the framework D<1> when the underclearer is removed and prevents the cradle from contacting with the rollers .
