159,547. Lomas, Ltd., J., and Moss, F. Oct. 29, 1919. Spindle apparatus. - The spindles of spinning-frames of the Chapon type, wherein cops are spun and wound on a sliding spindle, having a flanged and longitudinally grooved top, by means of a flyer that delivers the yarn through a slot in a driven cup, are provided with a washer 5, splined thereon beneath the flange 2 to ensure a. square and solid winding at the end of the cop, and the usual longitudinal flutings of the spindles are nicked, as shown at 8, so that when doffing the end of the yarn is caught therein and drawn out of the cop. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the washer may be loose on the spindle.
