Abstract

689. Pferdekõmper, E. Jan. 10. Spindle apparatus. -The flyer 1 is mounted in a fixed bracket, is driven by a cord 3, and drags round the bobbin and spindle by the tension of the yarn. The spindle is mounted loosely in the copping-rail 9, and carries a disc 6 upon which the bobbin rests. To diminish friction in the spindle bearings, the spindle may be made hollow. To facilitate the doffing of the bobbins while running, the spindles extend within them only for about half their height, so that they may be removed during the lower portion of the lift, the flyer of the particular bobbin to be doffed being stopped by hand.
