Spindle apparatus. - In spinning, twisting, and like machines of the kind wherein the yarns or threads are wound upon bobbins or spools mounted on tubes revolving upon stationary spindles, the wooden or other washer 4 that supports the tube is provided with a shield or sleeve a, which shrouds the lower end of the wharl, thereby preventing the choking of the space between the tube and spindle by loose fibre. The sleeve may be integral with the washer, as shown in Fig. 6, or mounted thereon.
