Abstract

241,686. Gaskell, W., and Gaskell, M. Sept. 24,1924. Special yarns, producing.-In apparatus for drawing out compounded threads or fibres of horsehair or like springy and elastic material and binding the same together the horsehair or like threads a are passed through rollers c, c<1> and then through hollow rotating spindles f<1>, carrying bobbins f of binding-thread, to drawing- rollers d, e by which the threads are attenuated and at the same time bound with thread from the bobbin f. A flyer may be provided on the spindle f<1> to enable the winding to be effected closer to the nip of the rollers d, e. Two threads so produced may be delivered to an ordinary flyer and wound on to a bobbin thereby as a doubled thread.
