Abstract

229,360. British Celanese, Ltd., (formerly British Cellulose & Chemical Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), and Palmer, C. W. Sept. 19, 1023. Yarns and threads.-Compound yarns composed of "dry-spun" filaments of cellulose acetate or other cellulose derivatives, and of threads of cotton or other fibres, are formed by combining into one operation the production of the " dry-spun " filaments and the twisting or doubling thereof with the other fibres. The " dry-spun " filaments 1 are produced as described. in Specification 198,023 in a metier 3, and are led as an " end " 1<a> through an orifice 4 and over a drawing-roller 5. thence through a guide-eye 6 into association with the cotton or other fibre 10, which is drawn from bobbins 9; and the compound yarn 12 then travels forward over the roller 5 and a. tension roller 13 to the bobbin 16 of a cap, or other, epinning device 15.
