Soldering -irons. -An acetylene soldering-iron comprises a high pressure generator having water and carbide chambers l, c, a bunsen burner m, and an adjustably supported bit w<1>; the parts are so arranged that in use the generator may be held either vertically or horizontally, in which latter position the chamber c which constitutes the hand-grip, is downwardly inclined. The generation and supply of gas is controlled by a single valve p mounted in the diaphragm separating the two chambers of the generator.
