Abstract

156,654. Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. Oct. 11, 1919, [Convention date]. Diplex, duplex, and multiplex signalling; secret and selective signalling systems. -In a system for duplex working, the aerial is branched below the coupling to the transmitter, and the receiver is connected to points where the potential due to the transmitted wave is substantially zero. In an example the aerial is branched below the transmitter S and microphone M and the receiver is coupled to the branch a at R. Rejector circuits tuned respectively to the sending and receiving waves are included in the branches a, b. The sending branch b is tuned as a whole to the sending wave, and the branch a together with the aerial, to the receiving wave. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes various arrangements for multiplex transmission or reception or both depending on the use of different wavelengths, the antenna being divided into as many branches as the wavelengths employed, each being tuned with the aerial to its particular wave, and containing rejector circuits tuned to each of the other waves. A method of diplex on this principle is described which is stated to be specially applicable for a method in which two waves are needed to actuate a receiver, or two interfering waves are transmitted to produce a directly audible signal. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 135,895.
