[Class 40 (iv)] An arrangement for distributing television programmes consists of a plurality of antennae each arranged for reception from a different transmitter connected to a common transmission line which feeds a plurality of receivers. The antennae which are of the directional type and tuned to the respective transmitter frequencies may be connected to the transmission line through an amplifier. Filter means are incorporated to prevent interaction between antennae and buffer amplifier to prevent interaction between receivers. In a modification permitting the use of a simplified type of receiver each antenna is connected to apparatus which separates and detects the sound signals which are then used to modulate a low local carrier frequency which is then sent to the line. For one particular programme the audiofrequencies may be sent direct to the line. If the sound signals are frequency-modulated, the usual limiter-discriminator-detector combination may be used to produce the audio-frequency used to modulate the local carrier. At the receiver, after passing through a buffer amplifier the respective sound and vision signals are selected by a pair of filters selectable by a switch from a number of such pairs of filters appropriate to the different programmes.
