Abstract

156,349. Wallace, Bruce, & Co., Ltd., C. W., and Jones, E. S. Oct. 17, 1919. Siphon bottles.-The siphon head is provided with an additional orifice g opening into the top of the bottle, through which gas under pressure is admitted to the bottle to produce a counterpressure during filling. The liquid is admitted through a spout a while the bottle is in an upright position and the displaced gas returns to the reservoir. A non-return valve j situated within the orifice g is closed by the pressure within the bottle when the gas reservoir is disconnected. The closing of the valve may be assisted by a spring. in which case it is held open during the filling of the bottle by a projecting pin attached to the gassupply nozzle.
