Abstract
240,444. Meyer, F. Sept. 29, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Stoppers with valves.-Liquids which are capable of dissolving large quantities of carbondioxide, are discharged from a vessel and atomized on the operation of a valve, by the pressure of dissolved carbon dioxide. Fig. 1 shows a bottle C provided with a rubber stopper V through which passes a spray tube L the lower end of which is bent to bear against a portion of the stopper. When liquid is to be sprayed the bottle is tilted and the tube L turned to allow liquid to be forced through it under gas pressure. Fig. 2 shows a form in which a tube L' passing to the bottom of the vessel is mounted in the stopper and the tube L bent so that its inner orifice normally bears against the stopper. In a modification, the tube L is closed at its lower end and provided with a lateral hole so that in rotation it establishes communication with a transverse bore in the stopper into which the upper end of the tube L<1> opens. The tube L, Fig. 4, is open and communicates with a transverse bore in the rubber stopper V while the tube L' has a lateral orifice which, on rotation of the tube by a handle, also communicates with the transverse bore.
