Dampers for controlling superheaters.-In a water-tube boiler having vertical banks of tubes between upper and lower drums, pockets for the reception of superheating-tubes 14 are formed at the front or sides of the combustion chamber by short walls 17 having openings 18, through which the gases, after flowing over the superheating- tubes, pass back into the combustion chamber. Dampers are arranged above openings at the bottom of the walls 17 to regulate the passage of the gases through the pockets. Specification 181,373, [Class 123 (ii), Steam generators], is referred to.
