U-tube superheaters.-A superheater u, heated by an independent furnace a or by waste gases, is housed in a chamber b having a comparatively low transverse partition wall d, which divides off the front part b<2> of the chamber to form a secondarv combustion chamber. Baffle-walls between the superheating-tubes are dispensed with. The outlet c for the combustion gases is situated above the level of the superheater headers c<1>.
