Abstract

104,508. Robutti, A. P. Feb. 24, 1916, [Convention date]. Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler having three drums situated at different levels and connected by groups of tubes acted upon by the furnace gases in succession, the group connecting the bot. tom drum 3 to the intermediate drum 1 has a slight inclination to the horizontal, and the group 5 connecting the intermediate drum to the upper drum 2 is sharply inclined. The third group 6 is vertical and is protected, together with the bottom drum, from direct radiation from the furnace by a baffle 9. A superheater controlled by a damper is arranged in the path of the gases between the upper and lower parts of the group 5. Water is fed into the upper drum from an economizer 7.
