Valves.-A single reciprocating sleeve C, without ports, controls a port B in the cylinder for admitting scavenging-air, and a common exhaust and mixture-inlet port A, which is connected to the exhaust and inlet pipes in turn by a slide valve (not shown). The sleeve C and the slide valves of two cylinders side by side are worked by rods D, H from a half-speed shaft G. The scavenging-air is supplied by a fan N through ports K, L in the hollow end J of the valve shaft, and through passages 0, P leading to the cylinders.
